Jefferson, which hadn't won more than two games in a season since 2004, improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in league with its victory Friday in Millbrae. The Indians scored four touchdowns in the third quarter to break a 7-7 halftime deadlock. Abdullah Jose led the way as Jefferson rushed for 320 yards with a team-high 99 yards on eight carries. Simi Kofe (65 on nine), Jonathon Sylvester (62 on nine) and Zachary Nunu (62 on seven) all played integral roles in chewing up yards and the clock in the second half.

But it was three touchdown passes that did most of the damage to Mills. Ezekiel Nunu completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Bernard DeBerry on a fourth-and-goal in the first quarter. Nunu gave way to Cheyenne Meafua in the second quarter and Meafua completed four passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns to Kyani Harris, the first a 20-yarder and the second a 76-yard strike at the end if the third quarter.

Mills cut Jeff's lead to 34-20 on a Jared Puamau 1-yard run with 10:37 left. Puamau had a game-high 114 yards on 23 carries.
